: What to buy the wife for Christmas
medici Dec 12th, 08, 7:35 AM I have an awesome wife. She says she does not want anything for Christmas and has not dropped any hints during the course of the year. Maybe she has dropped hints but I am not picking up on them
She likes scrap booking but already has everything. We have a 3yo boy and a 3 week old girl. She does not get into the pedicure, manicure or massage. She's likes my Chevelle -- but "it's your thing" to her. There is nothing really pressing she needs -- if we/she needs something we just go get it.
I am completly stumped on what to get her. I could go with jewerly but I don't want to spend an arm and a leg either.
ANY IDEAS??
Andy69 Dec 12th, 08, 7:43 AM buy her a Skat Blast bead blasting cabinet, then ask if you can borrow it :)

X2.........:D
My parents are the same way, they have everything.....So I'm picking my father up a car GPS. My mother will be getting some type of tree to plant. If they can tell where a present comes from they will return it and refund the money......Same thing every year and it can be a pain getting them stuff.
Bryan59EC Dec 12th, 08, 7:52 AM I am NOT a Christmassy person.
For the most part, the extent of my holiday participation ends when the lights go up on the house right after T-giving.
This year SHE informed me that I WILL be buying a present for her.
She has requested a video camera.
I can do this.
And looking into this further, I discovered that I will get plenty of use from it as well.
With software I already have on my home pc---I can grab frames and make pictures of them (I had no idea I could do this 'til last week, and I have been using this software for about 5 years)
Also had no idea these new hard drive video cameras would double as a regular camera.
Getting the camera is only half the battle-----now I gotta get all the accessories for it.
grandsport Dec 12th, 08, 8:06 AM Get her a Chevelle project car. Then when its done in 16 years she can give it to your daughter for Christmas.
barryt Dec 12th, 08, 8:25 AM They always like diamonds or gold or more jewelry.
If that been done

Shevelle Dec 12th, 08, 8:54 AM "Stuff" is the last thing I want or need. What I want is some help! So...I'm asking "Santa" for a deep-cleaning house service. I'm so busy with work that it's a struggle just to keep up with the cooking, laundry and other mundane daily chores. I keep the house picked up and dusted off, but when it comes to getting inbetween and behind stuff and things like light fixtures and shutters/blinds, etc etc...I hate doing it! You didn't say if your wife works, but with two little ones that's work enough. It's what I asked for last year too and I enjoyed it so much that I asked for it again when Mother's Day rolled around. :D
cessnarob Dec 12th, 08, 9:01 AM Get her a dual bag vaccum cleaner..l:)
Chevelle_Nut Dec 12th, 08, 9:26 AM We don't get each other gifts. Her mother has been ill and she wants a laptop so she can work from home. I got her one, we are calling that our Christmas gift.
Of course she really wanted a new air compressor and a set of air tools.
Cameano Dec 12th, 08, 10:25 AM some SEXY LINGERIE.;)
You can never go wrong there. It's a win/win situation.
bcice Dec 12th, 08, 11:08 AM Ask her girlfriend what she wants! She will know. Jewelrey is always good because it is a gift for them and only them. Buying your woman Lingerie is buying something for yourself in my opinion.
Has she ever had a full out spa treatment? A very good lady friend on mine thought she was not really into them either until I bought her a gift certificate at one. She came out of there feeling (And looking!!) Absolutly beautifull. If you have a buddy that can get his wife one and they go at the same time, so much the better. I promise if you treat her to a spa, you will be a hero. Have any of you heard of a woman saying she did not like it after she had been to one?
gibbons Dec 12th, 08, 11:13 AM Have you ever thought about a piece of Lladro? They're those porcelain statues from Spain that are too expensive, but end up family heirlooms and something they will love forever. When my wife had our second son, I got her one of a woman with a baby boy. Direct hit score. When she graduated from college at 47, I got her one of a woman with a degree and cap and gown. Bulls-eye. She is teaching school now, there is one of a teacher. I think it's going to be the triple crown.
Yup, too dang expensive. But she's worth it. Search Lladro on eBay or google.
70isfine Dec 12th, 08, 11:17 AM I go through this every year. This year i heard about this company on Howard Stern. I got her an oil painting of our son on canvas. Nice and easy gift.

5 years ago she got a 66 mustang coupe still 5 years in the hole over this Christams gift

Thats the line of thinking im on also. Why not get some pictures of your 2 childrent, take them to a professional studio and have a portrait made out of them. Or have a professional artist make a painting out of it. Characatures(sp) or something like that. Otherwise, you may have to secretly ask any of her friends to see what she wants.

Autoengineer Dec 13th, 08, 1:29 AM I actually like to exchange gifts with my wife. We are definitely in the minority with the married people we know. And yes..... I did in fact make a purchase from Victoria's Secrets this year. She needs underwear right...so it might as well be something I like :) Another can't miss is anything from Bath and Body Works. Although it probably depends what kind of wife you have. Mine is the high maintenance type,. so this type of stuff goes over well in my house.
chevelledude71 Dec 13th, 08, 5:28 AM buy her a Skat Blast bead blasting cabinet, then ask if you can borrow it :)
I just laughed out loud, woke my wife up and asked her this very same question.
She yelled to me, "get the f*** out of my face"
I'm almost certain I'm not getting a thing for Christmas.
So, I would advise you to get her some ear plugs. :)

gnicholson Dec 13th, 08, 10:29 AM how about a womens fitness club membership
bdss396 Dec 13th, 08, 1:00 PM It depends on your wife. My wife and I gave each other a cruise for Christmas this year and last year. Not very practical for you with very young children. Mine really likes Christmas and I enjoy buying her presents so I'll buy her something anyway. She's a keeper and she's never complained about me spending money on my cars. Jewelry is a great choice for her. She loves it and I go to places that wrap the gift so I don't have too. Win win. Good luck!
