We have tighten it down looks to be in-lign.
Yes still can turn the fan blade, but afraid of burning up the bearings in the alternator and water pump, if too tight..
Help!!!!

Steve, Looks straight isn't good enough, you need to put a straigh edge across the pulleys and make sure they are straight.

if the belt slips enough for you to be able to turn the fan without turning anything else, it is too loose. you can really crank them tight without doing any damage, so go at it.

One thing I forgot to mention in the other post tho... when you say you can turn the fan blades, are you sure the pulley is turning also? With the clutch-type fan, you should be able to turn the fan blades but the pulley will not spin. If the pulley spins under the belt, you need to tighten it.
