In reference to the 70-72 driver's remote mirror I have seen the bezel on the door panel with no screws (fastens from the rear) and some with 2 screws at opposite corners. Which is correct?
I'm considering replacing mine with the repro one from GU. They say it's an EXACT repro but the bezel does not have the 2 screw holes. Some other resto shops offer just the bezel with the 2 screws. Confused.

My 72 had the clips.

The two-screw version is correct for 1970. I can't speak for '71-'72.

My 70 has the two studs retained with push on clips on the back side and its the original mirror and bezel. My old 71 had the 2 screw version.

Now that's 5 contradicting answers.

The 1970 Factory Assembly Instruction Manual clearly shows the two-screw version. That's not to say that both versions were used from '70 to '72.

That's what I'm thinking because I've seen TOO MANY both ways 70-72. Maybe it was a supplier/regional/plant/etc. thing.

My 70 was built at the Van Nuys plant, I know of 2 other 70's built there that have the same mirror bezel as mine. (2 studs with clips)
