my 1968 chevelle was stalling out on me and stuttering when accelorating. my shop teacher told me that it sounded like a bad power valve, so i replaced the vavle and the car ran fine for a week and the problems came back. it also started making an occasional loud poping noise. i can't determine where the pop is coming from and dont know what to do about the stalling. if anyone has an idea of what the problem is please tell me. thanks

the pop is probably a backfire through the carb, which ussually has enough power to blow a power valve on older holleys. It sounds like your timing may be off, or your mixture is too lean, check both those first.
If the backfires are blowing the power valves, afterwards the car will run like crap.
