All the repos I've seen lately do not have the ribs on them. These ones appear to be in very good shape based on the pictures. Maybe I'm wrong here, but I haven't seen many original ones come up for sale, at least that are not all pitted. Could be worth an enquiry if you need a set.

I thought the ribbed ones where only in convertibles or some such thing. I would think mine are original and they are not ribbed???

coupe ones are smaller. Or is it the coupe ones that are bigger? I think 68s are ribbed, 69s are not. Or maybe they both are. Heck, I just had this conversation with Bill in October, now I can't remember. Darn this getting old stuff.

My understanding is the 69 two door coupe models had the ribs in the rear ashtrays, while the raggers got the plain. Can't speak for the other models or years.

Again, that is my understanding which is obviously not "absolute". This could all relate back to my other post about different setups at different plants based on different suppliers or what was available at the time.

I think sometimes folks can get too carried away with " Correctness" You can bet that if GM ran out of ribbed ashtays for a 69 and non ribbed ones from the Biuck plant down the road fit, they did not stop the production line until the new supply of ashtays arrived. I would wager that they would have put anything that fit in there
