Anyone out there know about or have an authentic 1972 Malibu 400?
I have a well documented one and am looking to talk to others to see what else is out there.

Thanks - I have sent him some information on my car in May of 2007 and not received any reponse. Tom Hendricks, a Chevrolet salesman from Ohio who has Zora Duntov's 72 Malibu 400 put me on to Rainer's site.

Rainer has had some real problems in life lately so he may have overlooked the information you sent to him. He has been posting on here occasionally, so you might try contacting him again.

The Malibu 400's are non-SS/non Heavy Chevy cars that are usually equipped very similar to SS cars but just plain Malibus.

Two years ago at SC Memphis in the swap meet area there was a '72 400 Vert for sale. Number matching car. Burnt Orange with saddle interior. Buckets with round gauges. Super rare and neat car. Was asking in the 30K range. Good luck on your search. This should be THE PLACE to look.

A Malibu 400 is simply a Malibu with the LS3 engine ordered, just like a Malibu 350 is a Malibu with one of the two 350 cid engines.

Plus, they are both going to look the same under the hood...
