I need a left drum spindle for my BIL's 66 Imp. I can't find one in any of the suppliers sites. I was told that the Velle spindle was the same. Is this true? If not where can I get a stock drum brake spindle for his Imp.??

Thanks in advance!!

65 and 66 Chevy (full size car) are the only thing that interchanges per Hollander. Original GM number is 3855004.

I guess GM musta machined these to create the Chevelle Z-16's front 11" drum brakes, right??

Do their ball joints fit like the A/F/X cars do?? B/J nuts, bottom up, top, down??

No Paul, the Z16s had a unique spindle that looks just like a regular Chevelle spindle, except the upper bolt boss located higher. I looked them over at Chevell-abration, but I don't think I took any pictures. :(

Impala spindles have an inverted lower balljoint, and are a VERY tall spindle because of this. The effective height is relatively short because the lower arm & balljoint goes on top of the spindle, instead of the bottom.
