I'm looking at another 66 for her(ok, I'm partial). She really likes the 66-67 but needs an automatic (thank GOD!).
Check this one out. It looks like a good start for the $$$.

I don't know if the guy still has it but earlier this summer I was offered a true 138 67 without an engine for 14K. Rust free butternut yellow, the guy that told me about it up in Indiana is a team member and he said he knew about this car and what had been done to it for years and years. It had a graphic on the side that sort of turned me off, but it was a decent enough looking car otherwise.

Go to Craigslist for Akron Canton ,Ohio. Punch in 66 chevelle. The blue one has been sitting for 12 years in a garage since the owner passed. I went and checked it out. It has all thats listed but does need work.It does run.Im guessing it could be had for the same price as your roller.

I just got a pm from RJ, they somehow "lost" all the add pics. Not just this add, all adds. Thats thousands of pics that the members will have to re-download.
Anyway, it's 2577 miles one way, so I might look a little closer. I could go get it, but thats a long ride.

I gotta say, I love my 67, but I would consider a 66 as well :)

Smartest thing I ever did was buy my wife a Chevelle. She was getting jealous of the time I was spending with my Chevelle's and at the car shows. The only Chevelle she really loved was the 67, (which I love too), so I bought her one. Of course it needed to be totally re-done, which is what I got to do, but I did it the way I wanted. She will now go to a carshow with me if she can take her Chevelle, (really mine), with us. Win win situation!

You're lucky your wife shares your enjoyment of Chevelles (you need to fulfill and nurture that). My wife didn't and said get rid of the Chevelle or me. I don't miss her a bit (true story). This works with many things. My dad taught my mom to play Golf. Now they enjoy Golf together and don't go off in different directions on vacation, etc.

You think you guys have it bad. My wife wants a Chevelle of her own so that when we go to shows, people will talk to her also. When I finish my 68, I have a 71 LS5 sitting in a garage for her. (Hers will be done on the cheap.)

I bought a 66 138 disassembled and primerred. When bought it had a black interior and marina blue under the primer. When I checked the Trim tag and it turned out to be white with a bright blue bucket interior. My first thought was that it was a chicks car when bought in 66. I havent decided to redo as white and blue because I still think it is rather "chicky" in nature although the bright blue looks great in photo's I've seen. Perhaps there is a market out there for these types of Chevelles.
