Hi. I have a 454, new holly 750 vac sec etc.When i start it up in the garage, the fumes just about burns your eyes out. I,ve pulled a few plugs and some are wet and some are dry.Would this be running to rich or other suggestions to try for setup. Dist, timing,etc. Thanks

Sometimes trying to start these carbed motors in cold weather without the choke hooked up the plugs tend to foul. Take em out and really clean them good. I use a wire wheel on my die grinder to get all the burnt carbon off of them. Let the motor come to temp for several minutes and let it cool down and check the plugs again. It's possible their is something amiss in the carb even though it is new. Just clean the plugs first and try it again. Keep me posted..
