It would affect the value. How much depends on what the original color is and what color you paint it.

No matter what you do to the car it will never be worth much...With that being said and quoted I'll gladly buy it from you for a $500.00..of course it has to be running and dependable or I'll have to cut my price..:D

What is the original color? If it's one of the "desireable" colors, changing it will hurt the value. If it's not a popular color, the value probably won't decrease if you change it to a more popular one.

If the cars that nice,IMHO you would be hurting the value of the car.

My base model Elky was 'embellished' with SS features long before I bought it.
It should be 45 / 45
Has been blue with black SS stripes on the cowl ind hood and black vinyl top, paint is 10-15 years old... See gallery

I like the different colors...breath of fresh air....far too many blue and red cars out there.
Looking for a shot of a 70 Elky in color 45 with SS Stripes and black vinyl top....thinking about going back when repaint time is here.

Long ago, had my 68 427 Vette repainted in its original Safari Yellow color. Tired of RESALE RED etc....not many Safari Yellow cars out there
