I just performed the cheepie rebuild kit on my quadrajet.
The accelerator pump (I think that's what it's called) that came with the kit is not springing back up right away. If I push the pedal before I start the car this causes it to idle much too fast. It will kick back down if I depress the pedal a second time.
Another interesting thing is I cannot get the car to idle in drive below 600 RPM, and it idles in park at about 1050 RPM (which is too high). I've adjusted the two air fuel ratio screws to set it, and the idle screw. NO MATTER HOW FAR I BACK THE IDLE SCREW OFF IT WON'T IDLE LESS THAT 6OO. The choke screw I don't have a clue how to adjust this and I know it got turned during the rebuild.
The main problem here, is all this related to the accelerator pump? How do I adjust the choke screw? This has been a good carb up until now. HELP.
