I am having a problem with my starter on my 69SS. I have had problems ever since I got the car 2 years ago. I have been through many starters and still having a problem. I thought I fixed the problem when I put the bracket on that holds it away from the block. Now it sounds fine when I first start it but after driving it awhile and I go to start it again it has a loud clunk then it will eventually start. I need to fix this once and for all. Please help.

Go with a quality mini-starter. They are light weight, easier on the battery and provide more torque than the standard starters. They also are not subject to heat soak because they are further away from the headers and they require less current to operate, which heat soak affects...resistance of the circuit.

if u have headers u have to
isolate the heat in some way.
From the starter
wraps or heatshield maybe
had the same problem a while ago
