I thought I might get better input here than in the wheel and tire section. I am looking at putting on the 2008 ZO6 wheels on my chevelle. I wanted to get opinions on the wheel and tire size I should use. What would you guys use. 18x10.5 with a 305/40/18, 19x11 with a 305/30/19 or should I put a little effort in and notch my frame rail 1.5" and use a 19x12 with either the 325/30/19 or 345/30/19. What do you guys think?

a little effort will turn into a lot of effort. taking 1.5" out of the side is going to kill the strength if you dont add some to the inside. but then you have the uca crossmember, springs and shocks to deal with.
run the 305's. plenty of meat, unless you really just want to backhalf and install a 3 link
why the z06 wheels? if you want to run a 19x12, part of the reason has to be looks. in that case you need to run more backspacing to give the overall effect of wide wheels and huge tires.

I am considering the corvette wheels because of cost. They are really cheap compared to a aftermarket 2 or 3 piece wheel. Down the road I am going to get Rushforths. In addition I am running C6 corvette brakes and need the caliper clearance. I know it is alot of work for only 1.5" especially considering that I would have to add the width to the in fender well. If I did cut the frame I would add another crossmember to try and keep the strength. Basically a round tube behind the stock crossmember similar to what people put in for coil over shocks.

I went with base model C6 wheels:

I didn't even have to trim anything! Seems like a lot of work for that extra meat.

Well after reading some of your responses and knowing that chevelles are fairly big cars I think I am going to stick with the 18x10.5 and go with the 305/40/18 since it has a little more side wall. So now that I am going 18 instead of 19 in the back do you think I should go staggered with 17's in the front or keep 18's all around?
