only one more prob to deal with.
66 beau s.d. fresh 283.built engine , fired it up,ran great.got up to 190 degrees started pissing fuel out of the sides of the carb.
no problem, buy new carb......3 intakes and 4 carbs later still does it.gets hot ,leaks fuel and eventually stalls.a look through the butterflies shoes a manifold full of boiling fuel....yes i have checked all of the obvious. 66 has the canister type pcv under the intake ..could that pose a prob if it were plugged,if so can i get a new one ....a six pack to the winner

Check your fuel pressure. 4 to 6 psi is good, over 8 is danger zone. After 4 carbs, it is time to try something new. If your pump is new, that is not a guarantee of the correct pressure. I went through 3 new pumps to get a good one- that turned to be a Borg Warner brand which made the correct pressure.

i have a glass in line filter and it runs half full .i thought that was a good indication of not to high pressure ...but i will check it..thanks

Is your glass filter in a vertical position or is it significantly slanted? If slanted the air trapped above the outlet hole of the filter won't go away and is a bad indication of "fullness".

Charbilly2001- if the filter is slanted or horizontal with the airbubble in it, would you recommend changing it to vertical,or is there a way to bleed it out??
This is the first time I've heard this mentioned and I am wondering what effect it has....
