Hello guy's, just thought I would let anybody looking for a grand cherokee steering box that I just picked one up out of a 1994 and it has the correct pitman arm #52005285 but has a clearly marked alpha code of ZJ which could be added to Jim Sheas list of codes for anyone interested.

Just to add to the list I picked a box up today off a 1998 JGC and it also had the ZJ code and the 52005285 Pittman arm.
I was very carefull to pick a GC that had not been hit in the front, so I'm shure it's OE.
Happy to see I got the rite one anyway.

I picked up a GC power steering box last Friday. The pitman arm is the 52005285. Where is the alpha code at on the box? Is it cast into the box itself? Mine has a casting # of 26000525 then underneath it says GM SM 27. I can see on the aluminum cap where there was a sticker, but it is gone. Will I be able to use this pitman arm, or will I have to get one from a stock power steering box?

My number was on the paper tag, havent instlled mine yet but I know the jeep pitman arm wont work.

You need a stock pitman arm.

I'm going to use the one off my old box.
That's the plan anyway, from everything I have read it's a direct fit ?

Yes, you'll need a power steering pitman arm. Should be relatively easy to find a new one. I bought one for the Jeep conversion on my 68. I found it online somewhere....if I remember wehre I'll let you know.

Nope, you'll still need a chevelle specific, power steering pitman arm. The codes are for the boxes, not the pitman arms. The boxes will be a direct bolt in, but the jeep pitman arms will only fit jeeps.
