I rebuilt my stock original front end last winter and just would like to comment on the parts/setup. Here is the list of what is not stock:

Front:
SPC adj uppers
600lb circle track springs
single adj varishocks
ZQ8 bumpstops
1" sta bar

Rear:
175lb circle track springs
no rear bar

The car rides great and am very happy with the parts I chose. Can't wait to throw more parts at it. I plan on putting in boxed rear LCA's and all new rubber bushings this winter.

I had to make my own spring spacer to provide clearance for the varishocks (thanks Gokou for notifying me of this issue). I use 1/4" shims to adj ride height:

Are you happy with the corvette rims and tires? What size rims and tires are you running and where did you get the wheel adapters/spacers?

Check my thread out on the wheels:

I love the way the car handles with these wheels. I will be even happier when I upgrade to Z51 brakes, F/R 13.4"/13".

I am going to get the Z51 brakes as well. I am probably going to go with the 2008 ZO6 wheels in 18 front and 19 rear.

Not really an issue, just informed before I could have damaged a shock:

You had a response in that thread.

I believe those are 1" wider all around?

With the more lower profile tires and 600 lb/in springs hows the ride?

Could you compare before and after?

Whats the deal with the VariShocks and the spring spacers? I was just about ready to order them???? Just i'll have to wait and figure out what to do now...... bummer. That also means no height adjustability.

Well, my suspension was original, so that is not a good comparison. The bushings were so dry rotted that it was almost metal to metal.

The ride is firm, not harsh. Rides like any modern sporty car. It's amazing how much faster you can take turns.

BTW, I still have original body bushings that are dry rotted as well. It should smooth out more once I swap those out.

The body DIA is much larger than stock, (I think 2"?) and needs to be installed inside the spring, vs. through the bottom of the LCA. I believe members had issues with stock DIA shocks rubbing on the speedway spring spacer.

I still have ride height adjustability by stacking/removing 1/4" shims:

I feel the varishocks are well worth it. Now if I can just get some for the rear:)

Ya i have a set of those shocks, pretty slick.

Where did you get those spacers? I imagine you custom made them?

Yes, I had them made at work. I received the material for free, and bought lunch for our CNC lathe operator.

I will post a print for the spacer.

I really don't know how else you can do it. Maybe taking one of these:

http://www.speedwaymotors.com/RS/SR/Product/91645533_R.jpg

1. Chop the top off.
2. Weld in a stop for the spring.

Either way, it requires a bit of fab work. I'm glad I received this chunk of steel tubing, because I priced a Ø6" tube 12"L that was well over $100.

BTW, the tube I got was not an ideal size, but I'm not complaining.
