Can anyone tell me why my trans is pushing fluid out of dipstick? Rebuilt 3600 miles ago with no problems until now.

Could be that the vent on top of the transmission is obstructed. And sometimes they do this when they're running too hot. I'd make sure the lines to the transmission cooler in the radiator are unobstructed. Inspect them and make sure they aren't crushed. Then disconnect one of them at the radiator and have someone turn the engine over while watching to make sure fluid is flowing. I'd use a piece of hose and let it run into a bucket. Be sure to disable the ignition so the car doesn't fire up. And last, make sure your radiator isn't plugged, causing the coolant temp to be higher than normal.

Thanks Randy but I have a aux. cooler on it and everything is new as of Nov. of 2001--502 HO crate motor--rebuild on trans--just put on big tube headers (thats when trouble started). www.geocities.com/jhow66/2-.html (http://www.geocities.com/jhow66/2-.html)

Ah!!! Big tube headers!! I've heard of other people who've had similar problems after installing headers. If the cooler fluid lines are too close to the headers, the fluid will pick up heat from the headers and cause the transmission to run hot. If this is the case, you'll either have to reroute the lines away from the headers or insulate them.

I will say one thing for you Randy--you shore to try to help--thanks. I have aux. cooler mounted up under cab with lines away from all pipes. Should not be a problem but I am going to add extra cooler this weekend along with a sealed dipstick tube. Let you know if this works.
