I just bought a new wiper motor and washer pump and hooked them all up. When turned the key the wipers went from all the way down to all the way up and stopped. Nothing has happened since. I messed with the wiring a little but nothing happened at all. Any ideas? I'm sure it's in the wiring but could someone help me out? I rewired the car myself with a painless 18 circuit harness. The original wiper motor I had worked at first but died long after I wired the car.

Almost forgot. It's a 70 chevelle with the non hideaway wipers.

Sounds to me like it might wiper motor. But check the fuse first. Do you have voltage to the motor? I know that a defective motor will stop mid stroke because it has reached a burnt portion of the contacts. Was this unit a rebuilt unit?

Yeah I just bought it from Ground Up a couple weeks ago and I'm pretty sure it's rebuilt. Any way of knowing for sure if it's a bad motor?
