1979 Malibu

Can anyone help me out with this? I've got a 600cfm 4160 on a mild 350, and i can't get the choke to work properly. It just won't open, at all.
Any help would be appreciated..
It is getting electricity. I'm sure of that.
Thanks in advance, guys!

Did you hook up the ground wire? If you adjusted it, try setting it back to index again if the ground wire was not hooked.

Make sure your ground wire is functional as stated above. After that when the car is THOROUGHLY warmed up, loosen the three screws securing the round black thing (no idea what you call that!) and rotate it until the choke blades are wide open. Rotate it back the other way until it JUST starts to move in the closing direction, then move it back just a bit to a completely open position. Lastly, with the engine running, open the throttle a little and move the orange high-idle cam to the highest position. Adjust the high idle screw until you have the desired idle speed for a completely cold engine, probably 1800rpm or so. By the way, that high idle screw is a real bear to get to, so be patient. The only thing I have found that will reach it is a 1/4 combination wrench.

Nice Malibu, by the way, I would like to find a 78-79 Malibu to build as a daily driver.

My friends call me Whack-F*ck, because I like to remove (and install, or massage to fit) things with large hammers, especially on enduro cars. What's the easiest way to get exhaust manifolds off a 20-year old v-6? Hit them with a 10lb sledge until they SHATTER, then continue pulling the motor.
