: Electric choke

I installed a new electric choke on my carburetor (750 CFM double pump) in November. It has been working fine until Saturday evening. The choke will not release. I can manually release the choke so the engine idles at about 1,000 rpm which is normal. As soon as I accelerate the high idle cam on the back of the choke swings down and sets the engine to high idle (1,600 rpm +/-). Any ideas????

Thanks,
Bubba

Bubba it sounds like you lost your heat source or the "Bi-metal " inside the housing broke.
Check to make sure that you are still supplying the choke with electricity first. If you are then see if there is a mechanical problem. Check the ground on the choke also.

Charbilly,

Thanks for the response. I’m still getting power to the choke and the ground is good. I contacted Holley tech support also. They couldn’t tell me how to correct the problem so they’re sending me a new choke.
