Need to know if Edelbrock RPM air gap intake w/ holley carb. will fit under Stock 67 SS hood w/ 396 eng. They look to be a little tall. Does anyone know for sure?

It will fit with a drop base air cleaner. Also, you must be careful to keep the rod for the hold down as short as possible.

I asked Edelbrock this same question. I'm switching from a Victor Jr to a RPM airgap. The airgap is about 3/4" shorter than the Victor which was under my stock hood. 2" breather with a drop base. :thumbsup:

It will fit just fine, just what they all said. Mine does also, and you will be able to use a 3 inch filter that wont want to "choke" your engine and make it run richer. Use your drop base (I used a circle track one) and 3 inch filter

My air gap barely sticks into the cowl on my car. I added a 1" spacer under my carb and it still only barely pokes into the cowl.

When in doubt go buy some play dough. Set some in place and see if it smooshes.
