I have been seriously considering ordering up a set of UMI uppers (adjustable with spherical ends) and tubular lowers, however now I am concerned that I'm seeing information about poly bushings in the lowers being a problem. I am aware the uppers are suppoosed to have some flex. These arms seemed like a good price and nice upgrade from stock, but am concerned about what problems or bind may arise. Is there a straight answer to this issue or just different opinion ?? Looking to eliminate wheel hop (may just be due to old bushings) and improve handling over stock. The car does have boxed lowers and sway bar currently.

Thanks.

the hop may be caused by the ride height, it usually is. If the car is raised at all in the back there will be problems with wheel hop that parts replacement won't fix. If your car has stock or lower ride height in the back it's probably worn parts. The UMI stuff is nice from what I've seen. I wouldn't worry about binding, but the the poly or metal bushings will transfer more NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) to the car.

When it comes time to replace the upper bushings on the rear end it's easier to take the axle out of the car. They are really tight.

Thanks Tom.

Anybody running the UMI control arms? Wouldnt mind some first hand feedback, too.

Best Regards.

Poly bushings and stock ride height cured my wheel hop.:)
