View Full Version : 67 brake line routing help keithb Dec 3rd, 08, 8:47 PM does anyone have a copy of the AIM page for the routing with power brakes. If so you should have two lines down to the frame mounted block (front and rear lines). Two lines leave the front of the block, one goes to the left front wheel, the other hugs the engine cross member to the other side. One line out to the back to the rear axle. Year one has some pictures on their site.....this link gets you close, check out the brakes section.... http://www.yearone.com/serverfiles/fbshopmain2.asp?cat=0 Pete 67 Dec 3rd, 08, 10:02 PM Is your car a big block car? If so, the passenger side front brake line needs to be routed differently than a small block car. I assume you are adding a prop valve? If so, you need to figure out where you are going to mount it. keithb Dec 3rd, 08, 10:16 PM I have a new distribution block but I don't think it will mount in the original location. the line the runs along the front cross member comes to a 90* bend by the a-frame and runs up in the air where the master cylinder goes. and the line the runs along the frame ends just about where the clutch fork mounts to the frame. i have 3 more lines to use as well. this is a BB car MJRIBEIRO Dec 4th, 08, 7:59 AM Sounds like we have the same setup with the distribution block mounted by the MC? I like it because it allows you to plumb an adjustable valve within reaching distance. I think you may be missing some lines - If you have the kit that relocates the block next to the MC you should also have two other very short lines. Here's a picture - http://www.chevelles.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1679617#post1679617 For the rest, you should have three lines about 2" long. One will have a larger fitting than the rest. It will go from the back of the block to the a union with the rear brake line. The other two are for the fronts. On will go directly to the flex line on the drivers side, the other to a union with the line that goes under the engine crossover. keithb Dec 4th, 08, 7:04 PM Just looked at it again. I have 2 elbow shaped lines left that would go between the master cylinder and distribution block. and then 2 more lines. one with an adapter fitting to go from the line from the back of the car up to the MC. and another to go from the driver side brake. I mocked it all up and I have 3 lines going up to the distribution block. does that sound right. but on the distribution block there is only 4 fittings. am I missing something. MJRIBEIRO Dec 4th, 08, 11:20 PM I think your not seeing the one out the back???? There should be two inputs on the top middle area, two front line outputs in the front (one on top and one underneath), and one out the rear. They should be visible in that link I posted above. |
