Converting the front brakes from drum to disc and adding power booster, is it worth the trouble? This would be on a 72 Chevelle

Do you mean it it worth converting from manual drum to manual disc, or from manual drum to power disc? I was wondering that myself. I have the kit to convert from manual drum to manual disc for my 67, but thought about going with power brakes

Keep in mind you can lock your drum brakes up and come to a stop. And thats all a disc can do. Down long hills or a lot of city braking is where you'll notice a lot of difference between the drum to disc. Unless you go to the big disc you would notice quite a bit of difference. Salom racing a lot less brake fade. I don't know the exact number but I'll bet the 60mph to stop is not much difference between 72 stock disc to 72 stock drums. But I like disc better and think they look better. But the difference between manual drums and power disc will seem like night and day just because it takes less effort to stop. But power drum to power disc would not seem as much.

I change the entire system over to disc & power booster. The $$ for the power booster is not worth it IMHO. Now still having drums in the back you may see a better performance with a power boster.
