: Super Chevy Clock??????
Part Timer Dec 3rd, 08, 6:57 PM This is reidculous but i gotta vent. I have subscribed to Hotrod and Car Craft for several years and a year ago I subscribed to Popular Hotrodding. I wasn't too crazy about PHR and wanted to try Super Chevy. My subscription to PHR expired about the same time I got an offer in Email that if I subscribed to Super Chevy for 2 years I would get this clock with their logo on it. Kinda cheesey but would be good in my shop so I did it. This was in July that my card was billed. I ated and started gettign the magazine right away but no clock. Waited some more and finally sent an email wondering on the status. I get a reply that my order was processed in September and it would take 30-60 days to get the clock. So somehow my card was billed and I started getting the mag a coupld months before they got my order. Anyway I waited patiently until the mid November. I emialed them again asking about the clock. I get a reply that it could take up to 60 days and that means the end of November. So I wait until the end of November and email them tellign them it really has been since July. So the reply I get says, Sorry I didn't get my clock, they will process another one...........it should be here in 30 - 60 days!!!!
I know, I know, forget about it and chalk it up to experience but it stills burns my fanny. I konw all of the magazines mentioned are ran by the same company and I guess I will ahve to subscribe to something else when these run out.
AAARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!

PaPa Johns 77 Dec 3rd, 08, 7:04 PM That's why I only order that magazine "for" the magazine. Saves dissapointment that way.:)

I know, since I was going to subscribe to the mag anyway I thought it would be a freebie. At least I like reading the mag.

SleeperBBC Dec 3rd, 08, 10:06 PM I had one. It arrived with a cracked face and was about the cheapest clock I have ever seen. It went straight in the garbage.
Chris R Dec 4th, 08, 12:48 AM I would cancel the subscription and demand a refund.
68bye Dec 4th, 08, 1:17 AM As long as the body of the clock is ok, you can buy a new clock works at any hobby store for a couple bucks.
SixActual Dec 4th, 08, 2:33 AM Received my HOT ROD magazine clock this past March, I think.
Sure looks purty. :D
Respectfully,

DZAUTO Dec 4th, 08, 8:34 AM I'll pass on ALLLLLLLLLL of them!
I became so disappointed with all of the mags that I just let everything expire. The last one was HOTROD, which I had subscribed to since 1968. I finally let it run out.
And surprisingly, I don't miss any of them. Quite honestly, I get all the tech info I need from the 3 forums that relate to my cars: Team Chevelle (first and foremost), Chevytalk, Corvetteforum. PLUS, the REALLY bonus part about the forums is that questions are responded to almost immediately!!!
I remember when I used to mail in questions to mags such as HOTROD, Super Chevy, etc, I had to wait 2-4mo before getting a reply (IF AT ALL! :().
davewho1 Dec 4th, 08, 3:49 PM ... they will process another one...........it should be here in 30 - 60 days!!!!
It's on one of those slow boats from China - it'll be here any month now. :D You'll probably end up with two clocks.
Peloose Dec 4th, 08, 4:19 PM Maybe it flew by your house, cause I heard time flies by fast.:D
red '69 Dec 4th, 08, 5:36 PM My mother in law got me a Super Chevy clock withe a '66 Chevelle on it from a garage sale. Maybe it was yours.
tunes Dec 4th, 08, 5:51 PM I'm with Tom. I stopped buying all the magazines long ago and don't miss them either. One reason was a magazine started sending renewal cards and when I checked, I still had six months to go before my subscription expired!
The Deejay Dec 4th, 08, 6:03 PM If you ever get your clock, i'll swap you even up a one of a kind Hot Rod wrist watch...said it had beautiful leather band...it does...said it had flames on face...it does...didn't say hands would always be on 4:10..they are...at least it tells great time twice a day...
Part Timer Dec 4th, 08, 6:24 PM Wow you guys are cruel.l:) Just kidding. Back years ago when I started fishing tournaments I always set aside 1 hour before i went to bed to study magazines and books on techniques. Since then I always have to read something before bed so I get a lot of magaizes. Pictures hold my attention better than a novel.
If I get it before CB09, I should put it on a chain and wear it around my neck boyeeee!:D
Thanks guys:thumbsup:
Alwhite00 Dec 4th, 08, 7:35 PM I have a hot rod clock & a couple Car Craft ( I think I have 2 Car Craft because it took so long I complained and then they sent another and the first one arrived the next day) Piece of crap (all 3 of them) The part with the picture on it is so warped that the hands hit it and it stops. :(
