Anyone know anything about this job? It seems like they always have two or more job openings in my area. I'm curious as to why.

I`ve applied to that job before as well in the auto center and never heard from them. I think alot of these big companies put the ad up even though they aren`t exactly looking for someone. If they get a resume that peaks their interest they might give a interview but I haven`t had any luck with them.

I think they also do it to see how much interest there is the job market.

I tried Monsterdotcom, they had the same ads week after week.

I wasted time sending resumes.

Because they suck at repairs and I keep burying them in my backyard....

Sears home repair is the worst repair service I have EVER dealt with. This time around - 10 visits for one TV. 5 parts replaced. Same problem. Back and forth, over and over and over....and Sears has their own lemon replacement agreement that states after 4 repairs with the same results they replace the equipment BUT they get around this by keeping the very same work order number on all trips. So 10 visits, 5 repairs over 5 months no fix...one work order = 1 visit, 1 job.

If you go after the job and get it dont accept a transfer to California. I have pre-dug ditches for these SOB's now.

My grandmother paid them to remodel her kitchen with all new appliances and counter tops 2 years ago..took me and my old man 6 weeks to fix all the stuff that they did wrong!! we fought with them for months to come make good on their work and finally give in and did it ourselves..

Home Depot I know trolls all the sites looking for resumes even if they are not currently hiring. They constantly have an ad around here looking for master electricians, my buddy is the master electrician there and he isn't leaving and he was just given a raise for good performance. I figure if someone sends in a good resume with a lesser salary specified than Home Depot is currently paying for that position, they are in.

One other thing to note... If you apply to an ad that doesnt have the business name on it, just stating the qualifications, and "sallary negotiable" and then a fax number... be aware, be very aware. My brother used to work for HR at a company, and they would always put the ad out to see if any of their employees were looking for different work. He has since moved on, but said that the managers would release them for that.

I worked in the Auto Center at Sears when I first got into the repair field. Trust me, its not a place that people consider long term careers at. Its really a stepping stone to bigger and MUCH better things. One of our employees ended up getting a job at a competing tire shop that paid several dollars more per hour and told me about it. I was gone within a week or 2 when the shop he worked at hired me on the spot. With great deals at Discount Tire, and shops that have much more expierenced technicians. I would never trust my vehicle in a Sears Auto Center. Thier techs are entry level even with the ones that may be able to do a brake job being very inexpierenced too. Just ask Ron White what he things of Sears?:D

Did get a pretty decent deal on tools though.

Thats where threatening legal action and forcing them to make things right comes in. If these companies that offer shoddy workmanship and wont stand behind thier work. They will continue to do business this was screwing people left and right all along. They need to be forced out in the open and exposed IMO.

That was my first thought too. They arent looking for the top guys, they just want the top guys and want to underpay them.

These companys are just wasting foolish money on ads and not going through with it. It just doesnt make any sense, especially when money isnt exactly filling retailers pockets these days.

from what I hear (you know knowing someone who knows someone)
Sears
work you to death
under pay
complain about everything
and dealing with Sears customers IE John Q Public some not all are not worth the stress
A male going into a females home is always there to RAPE them.
Or they got 2 or 3 of their buddies there for protection and their wanting stuffed looked at too
Or the females & males calls and say the serviceman ripped them off for money, jewery, ETC to get even with sears or something to that effect.
