Anybody ever have any success with that fiasco? They interviewed some exec who said their whole site crashed and fans were blaming G'N'R and G'N'R were gonna sue Dr. Pepper because of the bad publicity and they had nothing to do with it...what a mess!

actually, i don't know how well it has sold- but if it had been good, he wouldn't care about Dr Pepper..

What ever happened to, "there is no such thing as bad publicity"? Ill bet it helped album sales more then hurt.
And to answer your question. I tried off and on that day and actually got lucky on the last try about 20 minutes before the end. Was busy and didnt expect it to ring the last time but when the guy picked up, I figured why not. But in the end, I still find it rediculous over a 20oz. bottle of soda. That other cherry flavor they make is pretty good though but I wish they still made that Red Fusion flavor from a few years ago.

What people do for free stuff. It reminds me of when Golden Corral has free buffet for veterans and active duty. There is literally hundreds of people lined out the door into the parking lot for a free meal!

I think I got through, at least I filled out the form and clicked the submit. Nothing ever came back, though. How stupid is it that not only are they going to give everyone a free Dr. Pepper, but they're paying for postage and printing to mail coupons! Could have rented a few more servers and hosted the coupons for people to print on their own...

I tried several times, could never seem to get my info submitted. Oh well. I have better things to do than worry about a free soda worth $1.30 or whatever the local price may be.
Axl Rose can go shove his lawsuit threat you know where. Dr. Pepper probably prompted Axl to actually release the album. Axl probably realized Dr. Pepper couldn't deliver on its "free soda pop for every American" promise and saw $$$ for his pocket. What a loser. He must have a short memory. What about all those fans he and GnR ripped off in the 80s and 90s when they either didn't go on stage, stormed off stage, cancelled concerts, couldn't sing because his voice sucked due to drug use, cigarettes, and boos???

I tried the entire time the promotion was running, and never was able to even access the information page.
The second it was over I went to that page and went to the contact us link, after putting my name and address and complained that it was funny that the second the promotion was over I was able to access the web page, they sent me an email confirming they were going to send me a coupon for the free Dr Pepper and sorry for any inconvenience.

I wonder how many stores will actually honor that coupon? A lot of times a store won't honor it because they didn't put it out.
That Golden Corral Veterans Day meal is a fiasco in itself. I wouldn't dare go toward that GC that day.
