We have "one" paper due on Thursday about Sartre. Well today we show up to class and the Prof. changed it to 3 papers. He said the Server was down all weekend, so he could not update the site.
Which is a total lie, because I have been checking the page everyday for the last 5 weeks. The site has worked every time.

I am only checking everyday because he has not graded anything since week 4, we are now in week 10.:mad:

He is just a procrastinator and won't admit it.:(

going to night school a few years back i was taking an obilgatory ethics class. this instructor made COPIES of large sections of a related reference book as part of our required course material and sold them to the class! talk about being wrong on so many levels begininng with the authors copyright protection.

I've had a literature teachers do that. They obtained permission from the publisher, the copyright holder. Is it possible your ethics teacher did the same?

at least that's how it worked in my school in the early 90's.

Talk to the school about it. Teachers need feedback just like everyone else. If they aren't cutting it, then let them know.

Not defending the teacher and I think you're correct in that he's just being lazy but it is possible that his ISP was down and he couldn't access the school server

Welcome to college. You are going to have to put up with ***** that you feel is unjust and kiss arse when your dieing to speak your mind and deal with all kinds of BS along the way. Perfect training for the real world.

sounds to me there is more to this than you're telling us or that you're aware of. I can't imagine why he has made this change unless there is some reason ( a lesson, demonstrate a point) behind it. 2nd point well stated. my employer changes the work load, schedule and due date for what I have to do when ever it suits them, and I'm a college professor. I, like-wise, state in my syllabus that I reserve the right to change anything and everything to suit the needs of the class, myself or the college. And I occasionally do for one reason or another. Great training for the real world. Maybe that is the point. Or maybe he is just a prick, either way you have two options. Stay on here and bitch about it to a bunch of guys that can't do anything about it, not doing the assignment and getting an F for it, or get off of here and do the assignment.

Situations like this are what end of semester teacher reviews are for(at least my college does them). Get the assignment done for now as I am sure you will, then express your opinion in your review.

Yes, we have those also. just a word of advice however. Word your "complaint" professionally not personally. "The teacher's a lying POS" will be ignored by both the administration as well as instructor. Constructive criticism such as " a more thorough paper could have been produced" if the deadline would have been extended when the length/number of the paper/s was altered. Or, "clearer, or more timely instructions" would have been helpful... etc.... You get the idea.

I am not telling on the prof.:noway: I just have to write 2 more papers.

Besides what does 2 papers matter, when I still have 2 years of school left. I have tons of more papers to write before I finish school.

I had a teacher in college that was the worst I had ever seen. People complained about him for several semesters and nothing was done then one day he forgot who, where and what he was and we had a new lab instructor the next day.

Sorry guys. Don't mean to offend. One of the kids I grew up with became a PE teacher. Also the youngest member of the school committee in the history of the state(19), and also, currently the youngest principal in the state(35).

He worked his backside off while we were all drinking and carrying on. Now he makes six figures a year so I guess we know who's who now. :D

I know teaching is a miserable job and I don't understand why anyone would do it. :thumbsup:
