: coil spring lift blocks
timandkim72 Dec 1st, 08, 9:21 PM Has anyone ever used aluminum 1" lift blocks for coil springs?? I am looking to add a little lift to my car, but do not want to purchase them if they dont work.
Any advice would be appreciated..
Found some on e bay for $30.00 from mrliftkitusa.
69 Daytona Yellow 3 Speed Dec 1st, 08, 11:34 PM Front or rear...? I would use the rubber in the front. When you go through the hassle you can put springs in for not much more. In the front anyways. Are you talking about the ones for the front right...? Just a thought. Rears a cake walk.

Mike Dec 2nd, 08, 12:55 PM Tim ,try the Mr Gasket spring boosters ( p/n 1282 - 1" or p/n 1283 - 1 3/4") .
Cost 'bout $12 so you can see if you want to actually use lifts.

steve_sutherland Dec 2nd, 08, 3:21 PM i have rubber ones in the rear springs, even with a large size block I have noticed it isnt exactly much of a lift, but more a stop for compression (with an even larger block you could maybe see some more results in terms of lifts, my blocks are 2 inches tall.)
timandkim72 Dec 2nd, 08, 6:35 PM These will be for the rear, I have put in 3/4 truck springs a few years ago, but would like a little better lift so I do not bottom out when I have a car load of people.
These will go under the spring on top of the axle.
Thanks for the input.

Doing the same project this winter. Losing the air shocks for standard Monroes.
Talked to this guy yesterday. Says they are quality (big big price though)

Years ago (ouch) I had the old can with the plate on top to raise it - never a problem. I see the aluminum lifts on ebay you mention. The guy yesterday sad they are not very strong material......My concern is the height - if too high I would have to cut these down and not sure how the material would hold up to a chop saw.
Ebay item number I saw was Item number: 110321098368
Let me (us) know what you do. I am waiting until Jan or so to work on this part..

Sometimes over the counter spring don't give the ride height desired. When correctly used spacers are acceptable.
Adjustable spacers are available if needed.

Southwest Speed (http://www.southwestspeed.com/index.php?sec=view_menu&cat=Suspension&sub=Springs&ssub=zSpring%20Spacers) also carries a variety of steel and rubber spacers.

Your right.. I use to work at Midas Muffler in 79-81 and i cant say for sure but its either CC505 or CC507 will lift the rear. Im sure if you take your car in they can swap em out in 5 mins or less if doing it the garage is not an option.
timandkim72 Dec 4th, 08, 8:47 PM Those look as though they would work well, but as you stated the price is a little steep.
I did order the blocks off E-bay, I should recieve them in a few days and can install them prior to the car going to paint and measure the difference.
Thanks.
