Since my last post I have got my 71 Chevelle Malibu running. I just replaced my 307 with a 350 and I was having trouble with it stalling (RPM drops way down when it is in gear) I guess I over compensated the problem by adjusting the idel and the floats.
I was trying to put the break-in miles on it and it was acting up again so I would put it in neutral at stop lights, later on it looks like my transmission lines blew at the front of the engine. before all of this happened I heard a pinging sound were the transmission mates with the engine. The noise would stop when I reved the engine. I have a single core radiator from my last engine I am going to replace with a three core but I do not understand what that noise was or way the lines broke. The transmission is a powergluide and has been rebuilt within the past 15,000 miles. I am real new to this. Please help!
