: Trunk Torque Rods,Remove or not?

Coudn't find the answer from previous forums, so am asking it now.

I am replacing the inner wheel houses on a 66 malibu. Do I need to remove the trunk torque rods to do this? I am worried that the put a axial force on the bracket to the wheel house and will push it out, away from the car once I cut it away from the house.

Also any suggestions on how to remove them if needed? Cannot find any clear directions here.

Thank you.

Thanks for the input, looks like I should remove before cutting the wheelhouse.
