I want to run stock valve covers with roller rockers, now i was told to use a thick gasket
MR GASKET makes one , and a rubber steel core one on the head side and the cork one on the valve cover side, dose this sound right ? if so were would i add the gasket glue? or is this too getto!
I'm I better off with the valve cover spacers(B&B) they are around $100.00 or will i get the same cleance with $15.00 gaskets????

$15 gaskets? I don't think mine where that cheap.

I have two sets of cork gaskets and some sticky as hell 3M glue (Gorilla snot some call it) between the two gaskets.

Looks stock, and works. Been that way through two different sets of heads and no leaks to speak of.

The tricky part is finding the right size bolts to hold it all together. smile.gif

I use the 5/16" thick cork gaskets with stock covers mounted on studs with no sealer. I've had them off several times and reused them with no leaks at all.

I made some studs from all-thread, that way you can make them as long as you need. You can accomadate wire looms and the extra gaskets. And best of all, a length of all-thread costs about $3.00

I did however have to cut off the drip rails and trim the baffels of the stock covers. Also ground a radius into 2 rockers that are close to the dimple for the hold down bolts/nuts. I think it was the intake on no. 1 and no. 8 cyl.
