My 70 Convertible has more than three options and I have a REAL build sheet to prove it.

I guess my 1970 L78 is a 4 wheel disc brake and factory air conditioning delete car.
However I do have over thirty options listed on my build sheet.

He'd be wise to investigate what was and wasn't available on LS6 cars.
I've never heard of anyone having two window stickers.

I do remember some cars in the 70s having 2 window stickers,most were loaded caprices,so that is possible.

I consider myself to be quite knowledgeable about the 1970 models, and THIS car has bogus paperwork, hands down. Even the crappy picture of the build sheet is not enough to hide the fakeness of it. :sad:

I think the steering wheel is off of a Buick!

Chevelle had 3 spoke optional wheel. I beleive that one is from a cutlass or skylark.

That is an Oldsmobile 4 spoke sport wheel with the horn button from a Chevy 3 spoke sport wheel.
The 4 spoke was never factory installed on a 70 SS
All the dopes out there saw the picture of one in Paul Herd's book ;)

David, I hope you are kidding but I will answer as if you are serious. My Cranberry Red LS6 has 13 options with the original drivvetrain and sheet metal. I have two original build sheets,POP,dealer invoice,owners manual,pre delivery dealer inspection and all titles since new. Desirable REAL cars still sell for REAL money.Bogus cars with bogus paperwork that are not represented as as such, but as the real deal are going to be picked apart for what they are. :beers:

I have copies of the Chevelle Report as far back to 1984. The June 1991 issue lists the LS6 identification features. One of the first things it mentions is that ..... (like all other high performance Chevys of the time, air conditioning was not available with a solid lifter engine. Other options not available with the LS6 engine package included cruise control (RPO K30) , 63 amp alternator (RPO K85) and power seats (RPO A41/A46).
This was a portion of an article written by Jeffrey L. Dotterer. This particular issue features Jerry Skidmore's LS6 on the cover. His also has the CO code dual snorkel air breather.
It reminds me of the 68 Z28 convertible. One exists but was built for a GM executive. Maybe that's how this one came to be. A better copy of the build sheet will help prove or disprove the authenticity. Tom just might have one of one.

I didn't watch the video but I suppose it's a matter of interpretation IF "LS6" means the car or the engine.

Actually, if you look at the build sheet guy's auctions, all those build sheet and window sticker auctions have the bidders and buyers marked "private". No way to reliably trace it back as far as I know.

Hey, if anyone wants to send me a scan of a real build sheet, I will make a template for everyone here and post it up as a free PDF file. I think it's bogus people charge big money for this service. I will also point people toward the proper fonts (freely available) to use on these things. I will need a scan of a complete sheet, though.

I may actually do a step by step on how to convincingly age it as well. It's not that hard. You will need a color laser to do it right so the ink doesn't run, though, especially for window stickers which have colors.

I received an email through my LS6 Registry from a gentleman in Canada and he sent me two larger photos, one of the build sheet and one of the window stickers asking about the validity of the two items.

If one blows up the copy of the build sheet photo sent me one will see numerous problems with the sheet...block 24 numbers are not in correct format, items shown in block 107 that shouldn't be (like N10 DUAL EXHAUST - as well as C60 AIR CONDITIONING), items shown in block 107 that only appear on a KC sheet, and several other problems with block 107.
