I'm taking my boys who are 11 and 10 to AC/DC tonight. Has anyone been one of their shows this year? I never got a chance to see them in the 80's because my mom was very much into church and thought it was satan music. I'm pretty stoked.

My oldest son is a big time Angus Young fan. He is a guitar nut.

This is him playing Jimi Hendrix national anthem

Kyle, a guy at work went and he said it was fantastic. He wants to get tickets when they come back here again. Your son looks like a natural on the guitar, excellent playing. Daren

Thanks Daren. He is doing pretty good considering he has only been playing for a year and is self taught. He already has 3 guitars. He has a Washburn acoustic, a Epiphone SG, and a ventures fender copy.

I am pretty proud of him. He has good taste in guitar heroes too. Jimi, SRV, and Angus Young.

Lucky Kids, I'm jealous. My girlfriend and I wanted to go but $100 per ticket without parking, or beer. Too expensive

Best concert I've been to. 2 weeks ago. Not satan type music at all.
Alot of the people were parents with kids. Angus was un-believable. Only bad was $7.50 a beer, and stopped selling at 9:30. Tshirts $35.

I agree. It is just good rock and roll. I am pretty excited, I have been checking out videos online of their concerts. My son is going to totally freak out when he hears Angus play live.

I went to a show during the ball breaker tour. It is still one of the best shows that I have ever been to.

They were just in town last sunday night, week from tonight actually. When tickets went on sale, I had to work that saturday afternoon and by the time I got home. All the good tickets were sold and only obstructed view were left. Then a second show was announced and again I had to work that saturday also and missed out on any good seats, not about to spend 100 plus on a ticket unless the seats are reasonable. Well, that job fell through and now that the shows are here, it actually kind of pisses me off. That was the one tour I have been waiting for the last couple of years since I got the word they were working on a new album. Only to completely miss out.

I saw them during the Back in Black tour here in Detroit and it was real good.
Of course that was 1980-1981 so everybody's a little older.

I think almost every single one of their tours have had a 2nd North American leg and with this tour lasting 18 months and only a fraction of the tour dates announced all hope is not lost:thumbsup:

I saw them at the sars stock show in toronto a few years ago. it was pretty awesome, then they came out and did a song or two with the stones. It was a wild show!

The show was GREAT. Angus really can still tear it up. His guitar solo was probably 5 minutes long at least. I am amazed that that guy can still run around like that. They played a nice set. My boys absolutely loved the show. I would recommend it to anyone. Well worth the $100 ticket price.

I have seen them 6+ times... First time in 1983 (For those about to Rock)...

Always a great show...

Last time I went (1997/1998?), my brother and I picked up some last minute tickets, on the upper grass at Shoreline Amphitheatre... Good show, but pretty far away from the stage... The Angus came into the crowd (on Brian's shoulders), he got pretty close to us, then he disappeared... Then al of a sudden, he was on a platform, raising up about 20-30 feet in front of us... On his back wailing away... Awesome, even if only for a few minutes...

Loved em since I was a kid in the early 80s. I saw them in '01 (Stiff Upper Lip) and they ROCKED. I've seen LOTS of legends (Page&Plant, Clapton, The Stones, KISS, Bob Seger etc...) and Brian and the boys can hold their own with ANYONE!!! Absolutely THE loudest concert I've ever been to. They are coming to Memphis soon but I guess my wife and I are showing our age (I'm 37 shes 40) we want to go but we're just not up for the noise, crowd and traffic anymore. The only other equally electrifying shows I've ever seen were The Stones (98, No Security) and being in Memphis I've seen all the "Giant Screen" Elvis shows with his original band and orchestra that was done in the late 90s and early 00s.

I understand this is their last tour (of course in 95 they said that about KISS and a little later the Eagles, now they each tour every couple of years as the couple hundred million dollar offers come in for another year tour) but I heard Brian say during an interview recently that he felt he was losing his voices ability to hit the big notes and recover between shows. He also said they were getting tired of touring and they obviously didn't need the money anymore. That's usually when legendary acts throw in the towel, once it's no longer fun. That's exactly why Robert Plant won't sign on for reunion tour with Page, Jones and Bonhams son. Sorta like "Been there done that, got the MILLION$ to prove it!" So if you haven't seen AC/DC you are denying yourself one kickass show! They sound as good live as they do on CD, most groups aren't like that.

I've always said for pure AZZKICKIN Rock&Roll you won't beat AC/DC, and I LOVE that distinctive sound of theirs. :beers:

I have been wondering. If you went down to the arena before the show, or, hit Craigslist the day of the show and tried your luck to get a set of tickets. What are the chances you would end up getting ripped off? In MN scalping tickets is legal now (big mistake IMO) but I really wish I would have found a way to get tickets to this show. Ours isnt until Jan 19th so that leaves me some time. But my question is. Is there a common problem with lowlifes making fake tickets and ripping people off?

It would be my second concert in a week. I already have tickets to Slipknot a few days prior. I like my music on the heavy side.
