: 1966 seat belts.
Chris R Nov 30th, 08, 2:46 AM I am going to have to look for a set of seatbelts for my 66SS. I cant find the box with them anywhere accept a pair of fronts with a 1968 date code. I know I had a complete set of 1967 seat belts somewhere I was going to use but I cant find those anywhere. I know I never actually owned a correct set of 1966 belts but it seems I dont have a complete set to work with at all.
What is the correct pattern for 1966 and how much should I expect to pay for a set of these in black? Car is a bucket seat car, are these different then bench seat belts? Finally, were all GM cars the same in 1966? Maybe I may be able to find a set easier from an Impala or BOP or something?

I am changing my interior from red to blue
am installing buckets
found a set of blue belts in a 4-dr Skylark (69) with retractors.
I gonna give these a shot----car is not ready for belts yet
Chris R Nov 30th, 08, 8:47 PM Can anyone give me an idea on how much a set typically costs? And what other GM cars I can look in for belts?

I have some very nice blue belts and kick panels...looking for red panels and belts....know anyone? :D
Belts go from $50 - $450 depending on condition. It's sucks but that is what they go for. When you see some cheap belts buy them, sell them, use the money for what you need.
Chris R Dec 1st, 08, 1:37 AM Thats kind of what I was thinking also. Are all belts in 1966 the same?
Mr Chevelle Dec 1st, 08, 11:31 AM Every original Chevelle belt I've seen has a white tag with the year on it........used black belts are the most expensive.

A nice complete set would be about $250 IMHO.
james a larson Dec 2nd, 08, 6:10 PM First of all there were deluxe belts and standard belts. Different buckels. Tag indicated model # and date of the year(reproduction tags available). Also indicated which manufacture, hammil, robins, American general, etc. There were different anchor clips depending upon deluxe or std. The Impala outside cover on the deluxe belts were different than the chevelle in 66, the same in 67. Rubber boots for 66 yr only for deluxe belts.

I am refering to the standard belts.
Rodney Dec 4th, 08, 9:44 PM As info, I'm pretty certain that 65 and 66 standard belts have the same buckle.
