Hi friends; I have a 502 big block chevy how i can identify if has the correct distributor whith melonized gear for roller camshaft? how to identify those gears? thanks

Hi Angel,

For the price of a new one I wouldn't risk destroying an engine - just get a new one. I've seen the gear for about $26.00. You can buy the gear and slip in on your distributor.

Now if you have an MSD unit like I did thats a whole other issue.

Very hard to be sure & as was stated they are very inexpensive.

Buy a new one. The Part GM# is 10456413
You will need to have it honed to .500 for an MSD.
