: Chassis Motor Mounts were loose

I pulled the 396 out of my 66ss and noticed that an engine mount on one side was very loose due to engine torque. I mean barely finger tight. Im not talking about the mounts that bolt to the engine block, but the mounts that bolt to the chassis. They are kind of triangle shaped and held on by 3 nuts and bolts located at the corners. What can I do to prevent these "plates" from going loose after I reinstall my engine? Will lock washers work? Maybe lock nuts? Maybe both? Grade 8 strength?

Thanks for your help, and sorry for the long post.

Chris;

Use grade 8 bolts, lock washers and "deformed" thread nuts.

If you use Nyloc nuts, the heat from the headers may soften the nylon. (I really don't think so, but just thought I'd throw that in)

If you REALLY want to worry about it, use locktite "stud and bearing mount".
