Hello. I'm new to this website and just want to touch base. Have a 68 Chevelle SS396 that I just started restoring. Have half of it sanded; have interior pretty much stripped; need some advice on how to remove chrome molding/trim from my rear window without tearing it up. Anyone have any thoughts, I'd sure appreciate it. :beers:

Anyway, glad to have found your website. Hoping it will help me walk thru the details of restoration on my 41 yr. old SS that I've owned for over 30 years. It's an Arizona car that's been laying in the backyard with an Elm tree growing up through the hood. I cut the tree out and have just started on the restoration. Took me long enough!!!!! But better late than never.

Thanks.

you need one of these. Don't have to buy it online most auto parts stores sell one:

Thanks for all the feedback, everyone. I really appreciate it and you make me feel welcomed! Thanks for the advice on the tool I need for the removal of my windows and moldings. I'm sure I'll be asking you all for help again soon. This site is great! Will be posting pics of my project before too long, then you can see what I got myself into. Oh well. Should be interesting and fun, and hopefully rewarding by the end of it all.

Take care.

That is about the same shape and color my 68 was when I got her in 1995. Good luck with your project.

Nice project Ralph, much better shape to start with than many i've seen. Guess it's the Arizona climate. keep up the pic's, we are here to help.
Is that a Tach in the center gauges? neat.

John, yes, that is the original tach gauge in the dash. I guess it's a working tach, but I just don't know yet as it's been sitting in my yard for the past 30 years. Sad, but true. Better late than never, I suppose. I'm really looking forward to restoring her though.

Thanks for the comment. Am really looking forward to being a member here at Team Chevelle.

ps.. you have two excellent looking cars! Hope I can get my Chevelle looking as sweet as yours!
