With the Tenessee Titans loss to the Jets, that means there are no undefeated NFL teams anymore this year. I really just wish a team would step up and beat that 1972 Miami Dolphins record. Been sick of hearing about this record since I was a kid. Guess there is always next year, or the year after that, or the year after that, or the year aft......

yeah and maybe one day the Buccaneers will run a kickoff back for a TD

The Cowboys will get it done! Just as soon as they get a REAL Q-Back instead of a pretty boy!;)

Great, I've liked the Jets since Joe Willie Namath, ( or Na-mouth:)), was quarterback.

How about the Jets vs. the Packers in the Super Bowl? A long shot for the Packers of course assuming they even get into the playoffs, but can you imagine if this actually happened???

Again, you cannot BEAT perfection. Can only hope to match it.

Earlier this season, the Bucs did get thier first ever kickoff return for a TD.

The Lions are still perfect!

Yea, there another record going for the tie. 1976 Bucs lost every game that season. You would have thought with a 17-0 lead the Lions may have thier first win of the season. Unable to score another point the rest of the game after that, Tampa scores 35 points.

Are the Jets and Giants named for the city or the state of New York?

That's all I have for one of these football threads!

Nope, the 72 Fins won every game in a season, INCLUDING the Super Bowl.
No NFL team has matched that feat.

:boring::boring::boring:

Oh please. Enough with the 72 Dolphins already. The winning percentage of the teams they played was .396. They played TWO teams with winning records. The 72 Dolphins couldn't beat the 2007 Dolphins.

You watched the 72 team when you were one year old.
That explains it.

IMHO, the numbers don't lie. The winning percentage of their opponents combined with the fact that they only played two teams with winning records makes their 14-0 record more deserving of an asterisk than Barry Bonds' home run record.

Never said I watched them in 72, but I have seen film of them. What I saw was impressive to a degree, but nothing like some of the dominant teams I've seen in 30+ years of following the NFL.

Off the top of my head, here are a bunch of teams that would have pounded that Dolphins team.

'85 Bears.
'86 Giants
'84 49ers
'93 Cowboys (god it hurts to admit this)
'78 Steelers

I can understand why you want to hold on to those glory days for dear life, considering you've had little to cheer for since '73. :D Keep your chin up, Parcells might just stick around another year or two & you may just sniff a playoff berth. ;)
