Im looking at some dart heads for my 383. Its going to be a weekend driver. I'm stuck between choosing 180cc or 200cc (72cc). Anyone have any preference or advice.

200cc should work great.

If you are going to use the car for daily driving most of teh time, go with the 180cc they will build gobs of torque with that 383..and unless you want to spin it to the moon(which a 383 isn't built for) than go with the 180 and you will enjoy the drives alot more.

you can never look at a single data point in an engine and make a valid comparison. the key to building an optimum engine is BALANCE. the carb, intake, heads, cam, exhaust and rear gear have to always be consider in comparing any element on an engine feature. they have to all work in harmony, so in other words you may have a 383 that the 180 head would be the best choice or you may have a 383 that the 200 head would be the best choice. but you need to take all those other elements into consideration to know.

I run mildly ported TFS 23* heads in my "weekend driver" 383 and they are 203cc. There is no shortage of low end TQ but I am running a 10" converter.

What's the rest of the combo going to be?
