I read somewere that a 70 Chevelle with Factory A/C should have a metal can not a plastic ball type. Can anyone verify this information???

I have heard that as well, can not verify. I do know of a non air car with the plastic canister and an air car with the coffee can. FWIW. 1970 that is.

My 70 SS 454 M-22 El Camino has the metal can. Mine is an A/C car. I ordered my 70 in Feb. 70 it was built in Balt-2nd week of march, I left Sahli Chevrolet with it on Apr. 4-5 of 70.
The metal Vac-A/C assist can can be bought new today. I bought a new one and it fits in the Chevy brackets and is a PERFECT match to the Org. They are on Jeep Cherokee,s and used for the same purpose.

My 70' Malibu had the coffee can. Its good to know the cherokees have them. Mine has a broken bracket. What year cherokee has the coffee canister?
