I took my car to the Transfer station today and hit the scales. The front weighs 2360, the rear weighed 1,720 and the entire car weighed 4,060 with me in it ( 210 lbs ) and a 1/4 tank of gas. It is a 70 Chevelle with a 502, richmond 6 speed and vintage air, the battery is under the hood, and interior is stock. I think these scales are real accurate, but if you do the math it doesnt add up, I think because the scales are about 60 ft long and I didnt take much time when I stoped because I had a line of people behind me. Does this sound pretty close to anyone out there who has weighed their car?

Hi ddeennis, That is one light chevelle, most '68s are 3550 lbs. without the driver, with an iron headed big block.

Thanks Mark, I may try the State Patrol scales, its not a big deal, I will probably run the car one weekend at the drags, but its not a race car. I was just curious if my car compared in weight with most other big block cars. With it being a stick, this tranny is heavier than most, and the Lakewood shield adds weight, along with the air. So without me in the car I didnt think 3850 was to bad, being its all steel. By the way there was no charge at the transfer station in the valley, just felt a little rushed with a line of trucks full of garbage behind me...
