Currently have a 350 but will have a 454 eventually. I need a radiator REAL bad. So Id like to put something in now that will be alright for a big block when the time comes. Not sure what size mine is or how much room there is, its a 70 front end on a 71. Northern GM Radiators, there are a few I have in stock at my work I was thinking about getting one. Here are a couple sizes. Maybe you can let me know what would work best

19x22, 19x26, & 19x28

Im not sure if these come with the trans cooling line ports, probably not. I'll look though. If not anyone use an external trans cooler? I heard B&M makes a good one, easy to install? Thanks...

Errr, zero responces ;) Thanks, I made a purchase without you guys! I got a nice aluminum Griffin Radiator PN# 1-25242-X It's a Chevy Race Series, Its 19 x 27.5 Its far shorter than the one I had before. The stock style radiator support panel will have to be modified or removed, or I will return this rad. for a different size, more length... Any ideas or help would be great...

you do a fine job of talking to yourself Phil, ever used the search function? I swapped out a stock 3 core radiator for an AFCO 2 core aluminum radiator 31x19 runs the same temp now without a shroud as it did with the stock radiator and shroud.

Sorry, but I thought guy's had figured out that you could use a really cheap aluminum radiator out of a P/U and lighten your front-end some as well as save some money. And is almost a bolt-in...

I bought a Summit house brand by Northern Aluminum Rad. and added some inexpensive aluminum square tubing and flat stock to it and bolted her up in my car. I have less than $200 in the thing but it isn't stock mounted.

Yeah my cars no stock ride. Doesnt matter to me, not on this project atleast. I found the same Griffin which is 4" longer, should be perfect. If not I'll have to do close to little cutting or bending so it will "look" right. The Griffin and Northern are almost the same, I think the Northerns come with Drain plugs and the Griffins Dont... hence... there a little cheaper

Go with a Howe stock car radiator. Its about 185 bucks and i dont see a tick over 170 on the Hottest days under any circumstances

I have a summit aluminum in mine with a stewart high flow pump, no shroud and steel fan, never ever goes over 170-175. I think you would do well with a big block and a set-up like this. Jeff
