i snagged a set of used harland sharp roller rockers for cheap.upon inspection i've noticed they have some really dirty old oil/grease still in them from a season of racing.i guess this is normal for a used set.what is the best method for cleaning them out and lubing them up for future use?they look really good on the outside but i'm sure they have some microscopic wear particles in them from normal wear.also,i checked them all for smooth movement by hand and one of them failed the test by binding in the fulcrum.i guess i'll hafta replace that one.

Soak them in kerosene or cleaning solvent, well not just soak but agitate so the crud comes out. then oil them up and all should be fine.

I've been running my Crane Energizer roller rockers for almost 5 years...racing full time the last two years and they are not gummed up,matter of fact they look like new...Going to buy a brand new set of Crane Golds here before long, figure I'm running on borrowed time with the Energizers.

I'd swish & soak all those rockers in a coffee can full of laquer thinner,& blow em dry then inspect.
Do this in a well ventilated, safe area

thanks guys.would it be wise after cleaning to just let them soak in a can full of motor oil? it seems like i remember an engine builder saying he liked to submerge them in clean oil before installation.does anyone here do that?thanks again.
