I'm running a 454 +.30, 10.75 CR, ported heads, Airgap intake, 2" Primary headers and true 2.5" dual exhaust....I was thinking that this cams 2000-6000 RPM powerband would be perfect for me

What do you guys think?

A thought - I like it! Seems really similar to the 276/84 Lunati I run. You'll like it. I think you're getting really close on the dynamic compression though. I'm at 10.51:1 with a slighly more intense cam and it's close man. ( but I have it installed +6/7 degrees ).

The Comp Cams 11-551-5 is 280/285 at .020, 242/250 at .050, 150/156 at .200, .575/.604 valve lift, and 110 LSA.
The Lunati 402A3LUN is 276/284 at .020, 243/251 at .050, 153/162 at .200, .586/.600 valve lift and 110 LSA.
A slight, but noticeable, difference.

UD Harold is a slight noticeble difference something you'd feel in the car or notice on the dyno?

So it's still an okay camshaft then right?

I would rather have ran a lunati cam but I came across a great deal on this one.

Does this sound like an okay choice for my set up? I realise there are a lot of variables to consider but I plan on running mostly street and only a little on the strip.

As long as I didn't make a mistake by getting this cam I'll be happy smile.gif

Well, I didn't want to say that Harold's cam is likely a bit better, and a bit bigger where it matters (200), but if you have the other in your hand, you're good to go, IMHO.

Unless you end up decking the block and shaving the heads and overshooting your 10.5:1. Be careful, these cam don't bleed down alot. They make GREAT mid range POWER with stout clylinder pressures. Good luck with it.
