I dont know much about them, But I know people who run them on their late model F-bodies... They say the BFG's hook much better, but the tread wear is great compared on the BFGs.

They are very popular with the late model guys, although there mostly low profile 17" tires

Thanks for the reply,

With an emergency situation looming, they are the only ones I can get at this time to race on Sunday. a 2.41 geared stock convertered 350 in my Buick at this present time, I think I can hook it with the Nitto's at a decently prepared track...

They have to be better than regular street radials and I really don't have much choice.

Tom, I use Mickey Thompson Sportsman Pro's, 10.5 X 26.0 X 15, and while they aren't radials, I drive on them 75 miles one way to the track at 80mph, and they feel very safe. This is with Kelly street radials on the front. They probably hook as well as the Nitto's or BFG's, and they may be cheaper. I don't use tubes, and run around 24 pounds of air. This assumes you can get them by tomorrow, of course. Food for thought.

Not a very good comparison. But I went from a 255/50 16 BF drag radial, to a 275/40 17 Nitto drag radial, and the Nitto hook way better. I think they'll work well for you.

Tom,
I've got a brand new set of M/T ET Street Drag radials mounted on 15x10" Weld Pro Stars, 275/60-15 with zero miles...come and get them!
I've used Nitto 555R before...loved them! Gave me a 1.67 60' on my Camaro. graemlins/thumbsup.gif Much better than the BFG drag radials.

I assume you are referring to the '72 455 Buick in the sig. Nice ride. I would think that would run pretty darn good. I would think there's 2.73's in there. Mild 455 with hook will still run high 13's every time.

Except one problem, the 455 is on the engine stand to swap in this winter. It does have a fresh (500 miles) 350 4 barrel motor in it though.

Buick 350-4 barrel with traction. That is about the best bracket car made. Had a friend in College used to run his '71 Olds Cutlass 4-door in brackets. Car ran like 15.9's, good track, bad track or in the rain. He made a ton of money with that car. Was points bracket leader for several years at Maple Grove.

Thats encouraging...Thanks..

So I just installed a quick change vacuum secondary kit in a Holley 650 spreadbore, drained the rear fluid ready to install a powertrax tomorrow, and am picking up my drag radials tomorrow during a 2 1/2 hour "lunch". Taking out the 2 row radiator in with the 4-row Monte Radiator I swapped out for Aluminum a few years ago, some quick tuning during some runs and a bracket race on Sunday during GM Day at Leb Valley and a cross of the fingers..

Geez, Tom, either you have more time than I do...or I suck at time management. :D Good luck and we'll be eagerly anticipating the results. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Yeah, I would say 15's as well. I will let ya know after Sunday..

Chris, I have been meaning to call you...

I will be racing Super Street (10.90 index) next year with no electronics at first and on 1 or 2 other Sundays a month in money races. Going to a 3.90 or 4.10 gear in the Monte...why not ?? I gotta see what she'll do all out but still streetable. I want to hit a 10.3x with it next year.

4.10's are plenty streetable, i drove to island dragway 1.5 hours each direction many weekends over the summer.
If its too many RPMs, then drive slower.
