I was looking through some pics and found these pics of my first car:cool:
It was the summer of 86 and I was 16 years old. My mom and dad divorced when I was about 2-3 years old and he was not the weekend dad like most. I never saw him until my older brother graduated high school and he asked my mom if he could invite him. She got a hold of him and he came to the graduation. I met my real dad when I was 16. So my dad felt bad that he never saw me until now that he wanted to send me to drivers education and buy me a car. Well he wanted to buy me something like a datsun 510 two door which are pretty cool but he asked me what I wanted and of course I said 67-68 Camaro:thumbsup: Well we started looking and the more he looked they really grew on him. Well one day ( I think about a month after he started to look for a car for me) he found this car. It was a one owner 118000 original mile 327 210HP 2speed glide black buckets yellow Camaro which was all original for 2000 bucks. It was butternut yellow from the factory but had a repaint in 1980 but was super straight. In 1988 it got a 1967 impalla SS 327 with 2.02 heads big ass cam,10.5 compression 700DP carb and dual points dist ( cool at the time but a pain in the butt) and a turbo 350 with a 2800 stall. The only thing wrong was the 10 bolt with 2.73 gears. It ran a 14.5 1/4 mile at the time. I know with better gears in the rear (now) and a set of slicks it could of been a mid 13 car. With the 2.73 gears it would flat out fly on the freeway:yes:

So back a few years about when I was 3-4 my mom met my step dad and he had a 66 chevelle 327,4speed black on black. I loved that car and always wanted one that is the reason I own one now. This is were my love for classic muscle started. Here are some pics I found. The first one is of me my mon and my bro with the 66 in the back (Im the little guy on the right). Notice the original red line tires:yes: The rest are of my 67 camaro my first car. Oh and BTW a freakin chick magnet when in high school

Great story and pics Kevin.

Have you still got the licence plate frame ? It'd look right at home on your '66.

These pics are great! I have some black and whites of mine with our high school rodeo arena in the background which hasn't even been there in 20 years.

Ya I forgot about that. That was from my Dad and no it went with the car. I still have dreams about that car. I wish I knew were it was as I would buy it back in a second.

BTW I owned that car for 6 years and to date that is the longest I have ever owned a car or truck

My step Dad bought it new off the lot in 66. It had the Knee knocker tack. radio delete, bucket seats and I remember it being pretty fast:thumbsup:

That setup was marketed as the Malibu sports coupe. It scared a lot of big block owners back in the day:yes:.

I had it on blocks while I was working on a Gov research ship and was in Alaska for 5 months. I came back to get it to drive it back to Virgina where the ship was stationed. I took these pics before I left Wa to drive cross country.
