while i'm in the process of repairing the rust that was under my vinyl top (which i'm leaving off),i'm trying to come up with ideas on a more aerodynamic or smoother look around the rear windshield rather than re-using the chrome moulding.i want to keep the factory glass(no lexan).has anyone done this to their drag car or have any ideas?i'm thinking of using some type of narrow metal channel material and run it flat side up around the same area the chrome moulding was and paint it the body color.maybe this would be better posted in the body shop forum but i thought maybe some of you drag racers might have done this before.thanks for any input.

On my 78 Malibu I just painted the chrome semi-gloss black since the bumpers were painted body color. This worked well with dark metallic green and looks not too much different than other 78s that have Lexan painted black around the edges.
Mine is drag only. Gary

Go to an automotive glass install shop and ask to see the universal mouldings they have to offer, there are different widths from 3/16 to 3/4" wide. A friend just did this on a 68 GTO and it looks good, the moulding simply pushed in the void between the sheetmetal and glass and was glued in with urethane. Bob
