I bought an engine and come to find out it has 1.7 INT and 1.6 EXH rockers. What do you guys think of going all 1.7, all 1.6 (since its over cammed already), or 1.8 to use the most of the #188 rect heads???
509-10:1 - Solid roller 268/272 @.050, 708" lift 108 lobe sep
Dart intake,unported heads TH400,3800 flash stall,4.30 gears
It now runs 123mph in a 3715lb car
Thanks

well you have them all .so try different ratios at the track ! try 1.6 intake ,and 1.7 exhaust ,should be the best of both worlds . I dont think the 1.8s will help with anything (maybe on the exhaust ) .
good luck
I don't build engines for a living, but I would be checking piston to valve clearance before going up in rocker ratio.

I've never heard of a 1.6;1 BB rocker.... Stock is 1.7:1. You can also go with the bigger 1.8:1's
Stock SB are 1.5:1 and the larger 1.6:1 are available.
Sounds like someone tried to calm the cam down by installing SB 1.6:1 rockers.

Yes, i was going to check piston to valve clearance along with milling the heads to get the comp. up a little. I really dont want the 1.6 at all since it slows the valve down off the seat.
