I didn't want to tack this at the end of the Borla/Flowmaster thread since it was getting kind of long:

Anyone running Supertraps? I have this idea of running the exhaust out the side so that it exits just prior to the rear wells, and capping them off with Supertraps.

Anyone ever done or seen this setup? What did you think of it?

Yes, I have seen that done. The speed shop I used to work at had a '72 Chevelle with Supertraps exiting out in front of the rear tires. Looks kinda tacky to me.

To get the exhaust at a tolerable level, required removing allot of discs. This caused severe back pressure and made the car run like a sick dog.

I would lean more toward a performance turbo style muffler: Borla, Flowmaster, Dynomax, etc.

I plan to run Borla XR-1 Sportsman 3 1/2" (16" long case) mufflers with a Dr. Gas X-over with my new BBC race motor. I might even try to get 3 1/2" tail pipes over the axle to the rear bumper!...Maybe.

Good Luck
